December 2008 - Year In Review
What
a year 2008 has been! In the world of cars nothing is
selling,
except in the world of hot rods, customs, muscle cars and historic race
vehicles. Why are we different? Because we run ‘to the beat
of a
different drum.’ Yes, our car world is a lot different.
As for me I’m thankful to have sold 16 cars this year. For selling, you owners have had to bite the bullet and price your cars right due to a weakened economy. For those buying, just tell me what you’re looking for and we’ll find it for 20-30% of what you would have spent 1 ½ years ago. And, of course, race cars are a standalone deal—they’re uniquely priced for private collectors, museums and private investors.
It
has been a good year. We’ve sold ’48 Mercs, powerful Mustangs, SS Nova

and see the “Sold” and "For Sale" vehicles.
It has been a significant year as I’ve opened the world’s first exclusive website to feature authentic ¼ mile and dry lakes race cars , which are owned (not by car lots or car dealers) but by the original builders, drivers, owners and/or some of us ‘fence sitters’ from the days gone by. When Junior Thompson, Doug Thorley and I sat down to breakfast at Denny’s Restaurant after hanging out all morning at the Wally Parks NHRA Museum in Pomona, CA--the concept of an exclusive website was born over bacon and eggs. I was elected to create the new website. So if you’re selling a famous car contact me. Why? The first 15 car-guys that contact me will get a complete write up and photos posted on my website www.HistoricRaceCarForum.com. I have some 8 cars that are being processed as we speak, check out the site and see what you think of it.
